After the completion of the 9th National Sports Competition held in Pokhara, Gandaki Province from 28 October to 3 October 2079, the Karnali Province, which has been given the responsibility of the 10th National Sports Competition to be held in Karnali Province from 2 to 9 November 2018, is currently preparing for its internal preparations.
Karnali Province, which has set a target of two points in the 10th National Sports Competition to be conducted in Karnali Province from 2nd to 9th of November 2008, is now pressuring the Federal Government to hold the 10th National Sports Competition in Karnali on the specified date.
Karnali Province Sports Development Council organized a discussion on preparations for the 10th National Sports Competition in the presence of Dig Bahadur Limbu, Minister of Youth and Sports of the Federal Government, in Surkhet, the provincial capital Birendranagar. The member secretary of the National Sports Council, the secretary of the Ministry of Youth and Sports, the minister of the state government, officials of the Industry and Commerce Association, hoteliers, journalists, Nepal Police, Nepali Army, Armed Police Force, officials of the Sports Association were present in the discussion program.
In the discussion program, Member Secretary of Karnali State Sports Development Council, Bishwamitra Sanjyal, gave his presentation about the preparation of Karnali State for the 10th National Sports Tournament and the role that the federal government should play for it.
Giving information about the progress of the state stadium under construction, the main source of the 10th national sports competition, member secretary Sanjyal said that the construction work of the stadium will be completed within the next 6 months and the 10th national sports competition will be inaugurated in the same stadium.
Giving information about the playgrounds in Karnali province, he emphasized that the federal government should look at the needs of other districts and build playgrounds in the state that the state government has promoted the playground as a proud project.
Karnali needs one billion budget from the federal government to build sports infrastructure for the tenth national sports competition. The honorable minister should manage the budget as soon as possible, said member secretary Sanjyal, “It seems that even if the budget comes later than the push, it will be difficult to implement it.”
He argues that Karnali’s biggest problem is the problem of manpower management, that problem should be solved in Karnali’s own style. Member Secretary Sanjyal said that as the 9th National Sports Tournament will be held in Pokhara, the hotel management facilities like those in Pokhara will not be available in Karnali. He urged the government to develop the villages of Karnali into homestays and for that, bring a policy to train the local residents regarding homestays.
In the program, the presidents of District Sports Development Committee of Karnali Province said that to organize the 10th National Sports Tournament in Karnali, investment in sports infrastructure should be ensured first. Similarly, Laxman Kadenal, President of Industry and Commerce Association Surkhet, said that holding the 10th National Sports Tournament in Karnali is like opening the door to economic prosperity in Karnali, so this tournament should be started on the specified date anyway.
According to Karnali’s geographical situation, the air route should be made regular, President Kadenal opined that the schedule should be implemented by the federal government from now on. Anyone who comes to Karnali can see the tourist places of Karnali in an easy and convenient way and the government should give it the first priority so that the athletes coming to the 10th National Sports Tournament do not have to charter to bring them,’ he said. Revenue is likely to increase.’
Deviram Devkota, president of Karnali Province of Nepal Journalist Federation, said that the federal government and the National Sports Council have a big role to play in completing the 10th National Sports Tournament.

Bhojraj Sharma Kafle said that even though the health and education budgets have been cut, Karnali province has started preparing for the sports and the national sports has brought enthusiasm in Karnali. He said that the coming of the Minister of Youth and Sports of the Federal Government and the Member Secretary of the National Sports Council made it easier to turn this enthusiasm into happiness. He said that the federal government should work for that as soon as possible.
Karnali Province Police Chief Bhim Prasad Dhakal said that security arrangements will be made well for the 10th National Sports Tournament. “No matter where the game is held, we will provide security,” said Dhakal, “we will coordinate and cooperate regularly.” If the physical infrastructure is not completed on time, we are also ready to donate labor.
